January, 2025 – P-Wave Press is excited to announce the debut of its new imprint, P-Wave Classics, dedicated to publishing timeless works of literature in beautifully crafted, accessible editions for today’s readers. To launch this imprint, P-Wave Classics will release Headlong Hall and Nightmare Abbey by Thomas Love Peacock, two masterpieces of British satire, on 11 April, 2025.

Thomas Love Peacock, known for his sharp wit and insightful satire, explores the philosophical extremes of his era with humor and intellect. Headlong Hall gathers an eccentric group of guests at Squire Headlong’s estate, where debates on progress, nature and human folly unfold in comedic clashes of personality and ideals. Nightmare Abbey offers a darker satire, centering on the melancholy Scythrop Glowry, a young man lost in Romantic despair and existential longing—a playful nod to Peacock’s own contemporaries, including Lord Byron and Percy Bysshe Shelley.

The first of many timeless releases from P-Wave Classics

As the first publication of P-Wave Classics, this edition sets the stage for an imprint focused on classic literature with modern appeal. The volume features curated introductions and biographical insights that illuminate Peacock’s life, influences and enduring satirical impact. Headlong Hall and Nightmare Abbey are ideal reads for fans of Jane Austen, Oscar Wilde and other classic satirists, and they continue to offer fresh relevance to today’s readers.

Key Highlights:
  • Launch of P-Wave Classics: A new imprint dedicated to accessible and beautifully produced editions of classic literature.
  • Enduring appeal: Peacock’s works critique social and intellectual extremes in a way that resonates as strongly now as it did in the 19th century.
  • New edition with enhanced content: Includes introductions and author biography, offering readers deeper insights into Peacock’s satirical genius and historical context.
